Health and Human Services
The Links, Incorporated established the Health and Human Services facet in response to the chronic health disparities that contribute to decreased life expectancy of African Americans. This facet brings greater focus, resources, and opportunities for collaboration to existing health related initiatives of The Links, Incorporated.
For the Dallas (TX) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated, we are excited to uplift our partnerships with local healthcare systems and many of the clinical corporate entities headquartered across North Texas. Many of these Corporations support our annual Women Who STEAM through nomination of their executives or hosting our dynamic student scholars selected to participate in our STEAM Academy. With the expansion of partnerships through national agencies, local health corporations and ongoing focus on this critical initiative, there is no doubt the Dallas (TX) Chapter of The Links, Inc will continue to soar and positively impact our communities.
The mission of the Health and Human Services facet is: To promote and facilitate programs that support the maintenance of good health; and the elimination of chronic health disparities in communities of color through education, health advocacy, and equitable access to health resources. Through the Dallas Chapter, we exemplify our mission through financially supporting health initiatives, active participation in local STEAM education and breast cancer awareness walks. The Chapter also hosts health educational programs on chronic diseases such as cancer, diabetes, high blood pressure and weight management.
The members of the Dallas (TX) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated are committed to serving and addressing health disparities that may exist in the communities we serve – and this we promise.
